It helps to know you are not alone
Ever had one of those days/weeks where you felt everything swirling around you and felt alone? I had one of those moments yesterday afternoon. I met my friend at Town Center to reset, we just laughed and giggled about nothing. I got home and proceeded to fix supper, do the dishes, and laundry. Later that evening I sat down and watched the Big Bang Theory with my husband and it felt great to laugh. Somewhere during the night, his snoring woke me up and it took awhile to fall back to sleep. So, I didn’t get a good nights rest.
This morning as I was drinking my coffee all the emotions from yesterday came racing back. There are moments where so much is going on in life, so much to do, and so many responsibilities. It felt as though I was juggling balls and thought “I want to quit”. I have had those thoughts before, but quitting is not an option, not even sure what it looks like. I sent a text to my friend, who is a successful business woman that I admire. I said “Ever had the feeling that you don’t feel strong enough, but you have to keep going?” Her response “Everyday”.
It’s funny how sometimes it just helps to know you are not alone. As I thought about that I realized I needed to share this. We are all on this journey of life and we can’t do it on our own. Even if you feel like the burden is on you, I believe that God sends people to stand next to you and encourage you. It can even be a stranger. Next time you are out and about, if you see someone who is not smiling, a simple smile and hello could make a world of difference in their life. I have had times where during a struggle, a random text or phone call suddenly arrives from a friend. It’s in those moments I know that I am not alone. I am blessed.
