LaLa Land and Dreams~~
Loved, loved, loved the movie LaLa Land. What an amazing song and dance musical that show dreams can come true. Don’t worry, no spoiler alerts. The movie starts with the most awesome dancing scene in traffic. I can totally see myself doing that. What a rush. The music, singing, dancing, twirling, sunshine, and blue skies; I was hooked.
There were some negative reviews concerning the dancing scenes. For those critics, you missed the point. I have had people point out grammar errors in my blog and to them you have missed the point. The point of my blogs is to inspire and encourage. La La Land was not a movie about performance to me, but to inspire me.
Dreamers are often squashed by reality people. Reality is paying the bills. I get it. The relationship between Emma Stone, aspiring actress and Ryan Gosling, jazz musician to me was more of support than just love. Sometimes the people we love do not always support our dreams.
La La Land reminded me to not give up on my dreams. There are seasons in life that may seem mundane, but every season brings skills and opportunities to bring us to the next level. Embrace all the different people and experiences in life. Read, write, practice, and don’t stop dreaming and moving forward. Know what you believe and want to do. Own it. When the time is right, reassess where you are and what you are doing.
Growing up in New Orleans, I was surrounded by musicians and a very loud Italian family. La La Land is filled with music and tough conversations on life. Everyone has a different dream and different reality. We get to make choices. I’d love to talk to you more about this subject.
