Guests for the weekend
I was so excited to have my sons come home for the weekend. After their arrival and in under 24 hours, my house was a mess and I realized I had guests for the weekend.
As a professional organizer who likes things just so, I chose to enjoy my guests instead of being upset with a mess. We talked, we laughed, we cooked, we ate. What a great weekend! At the end of the weekend, in my most playful laugh possible, I said “hey, clean up your mess before you leave!”
You know what? They did. After things were cleaned and put back in their spots, they hugged and kissed me and their dad goodbye. Instead of focusing on the mess my sons had made my house into, I chose to enjoy their company and chaos.
My heart is full. My sons came home for the weekend.
