Do you know them or me? I talk a lot, loud, and fast. I am hyper but go to bed early. I will attend events and laugh and dance. Privately my family and close friends will know when I’m a little bit overwhelmed and have to shut it down for a while to rest and rejuvenate. I’m outgoing and friendly but do tend to be an introvert at times; that’s my way to regroup.
I’ve gotten more things accomplished in my life than I ever dreamed possible. I can write. I am leadership material. I do make a difference and love to encourage people, to make them smile, to give solutions, and for others to know that I’m genuinely concerned about them. Growing up, I was told that I couldn’t do these things.
Yes, I know I drink a lot of coffee. I’ve tried to cut back on coffee and when I give up coffee my brain is foggy because I am very ADHD and I don’t take drugs for that. If I skip my coffee, I get a headache and become grumpy. I have some health challenges because of a missed diagnosis years ago from doctors; no one realize that I had an enlarged parathyroid gland that needed to be removed. I do struggle with depression and anxiety but I’m still moving forward despite the abuse in my past. Currently I’m unable to do as much as I want to do because I was in a bad car accident. I am thankful I am alive and not paralyzed. I’m wearing tennis shoes right now because of past injuries. Do I want to wear cute shoes; absolutely! New purses make me feel organized.
Different Than You ~~~
Don’t tell me to calm down when I get excited or hyper about things that motivate or inspire me. Ask me to do something and I’ll make it happen. If someone is quiet, don’t assume they are calm. Yes, I’m a neat freak and have made it a business. Organizing is what I do for my therapy, some women like to shop. Shopping gives me anxiety. I’ll do things sometimes like everyone else and then they’ll be times that I don’t want to do what everyone else is doing. Some women have to make their bed every day, some have to have their clothes hung up and put away right away, me, I need the sink empty. I love to read and do want to save the planet, but don’t say anything to me when I want to print out the flyers on my computer instead of listening to an audio or just looking at it on the screen. When you know me; you know I may do things different than you.
I say all of this for others to understand that they may not really know what’s going on in someone’s life and that we are all different. Even if you don’t know someone; celebrate and help them.
