November 15 Memories ~~
The date November 15 is an interesting day filled with memories for me. In 1961, my mom and dad got married, in 2005, my best friend Debra died, in 2007, my business launched, and in 1963 was my first business mentor’s birthday. Since my mom and best friend are no longer with me, there is sometimes sadness. At times I feel that starting my business on that day is a gift to me. I view this date at times with caution, sadness, or optimism; depending on how the month is going. Dates can sometimes represent things, but I don’t want to be superstitious.
The subjects of my blog are usually centered around the topic as a home organizer and becoming uncluttered in life. It’s easy to compare closet organizing with the internal space in our heart and mind. Just like the date of November 15th represents so much to me, the items in our closet can also represent so much. Clutter occurs when there is more stuff than space and it becomes difficult to appreciate what we have in front us.
If I keep wondering what November 15th will hold; I allow the clutter of my thoughts to cause me to miss enjoying the actual day. Our closets are the same. If we have too much stuff, it’s hard to enjoy some of the clothes and shoes that may be hiding in the clutter.
For many the holiday season can be difficult and if you find that you have one of those dates in your life, try not to be anxious about it. Reach out to someone you trust to help you work through your thoughts and emotions.
