Is it time for a new look?~~
Is it time for a new look? Being older has brought about many changes in my life. I am very happy about the confidence I have in me, but I am not happy about the weight. What I could eat and how I exercised prior to menopause no longer works. It doesn’t help that I am 4’10 and ¾ inches tall. When I gained a sudden 15 pounds in 6 weeks, it was more than a size higher.
The thing that bothered me the most was how I looked in pictures. Yes, I need to change my eating and exercising, but I need new clothes. Going to the mall can feel overwhelming to me when it comes to shopping. Clothes may look cute on a size 4 mannequin, but not on me. I decided to go to a boutique and I let the owner talk me into clothes that were way too expensive and they looked horrible in the photos of me on Facebook. Social media could be considered as a good thing, I can now really know what I look like.
As a professional organizer and closet organizer, I donated those expensive dresses. Still down about going to those fancy events, I decided it was time for a new look. At one of those events I met wardrobe consultant named Lisa Powers. I was skeptical, but hired her to help me. As it turned out, I needed to dress to my body type. We went through all of my clothing and made decisions on items that needed to be donated and made a list of potential of pieces of clothing to add to my wardrobe. Before you say, “I can’t afford that”, my thought was “I can’t afford to keep buying things that don’t look good on me.” The best part about Lisa Powers is that she will guide me in shopping where I want. Do you know how many cute and designer clothes are in thrift and consignment stores?
