Clear Sky and Closet Organizers
You may be curious as to how a clear sky and closet organizers have anything to do with one another. In my recent world they represent the extremes of my life during the past several months. I had both of my sons get married in less than 4 months, sandwiched around the holidays.
On top of planning 2 weddings, the holidays, organizing with my clients, office work; I was on KHOU Great Day Houston, again, this time to talk about closet organizers. It is truly exciting to be a part of organizing a closet or showing casing great ideas. This wonderful lady had a closet complete with chandeliers and artwork. The most amazing part was a wall of shelves for her shoes. Each shoe was in a clear box with a picture of the shoe attached to the outside. Great way to see all of your shoes, especially if you have a lot of them.
I was also the speaker for several events. During this same time, my husband who is in the oil and gas industry was laid off. We are thankful that he put his over-time money aside and saved his vacation time because it will sustain us for a while. While all this was going on, I had knee surgery and a few health problems. I say this because I want to encourage others to keep going, keep learning, keep connecting, keep believing, and keep breathing.
The other night a friend and I went to Barnes and Nobles, she was buying a book for her son. We found ourselves giggling while reading the children’s books. It was refreshing. You should try it. Laughter is good for the soul.
Last night I cooked a soup from scratch in my attempt to continue eating better and taking care of my body. After I cleaned the kitchen I took out the trash. I stopped and stared upward, it was a clear sky with a cool breeze blowing, and I could hear the sound of cars in the distance. I allowed myself to embrace the moment. It was extremely peaceful. In a world that can feel so busy and feel that things are closing in on me, the sky is a place for me to feel free. Creativity comes and I can hear God.
Later, I found myself in the kitchen later eating ice cream, chips, and salsa. I happily climbed back into bed and slept soundly. All is well in the universe.
