Is it the best of times or the worst of times? ~~
“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times”, A Tale of Two Cities (1859) a novel by Charles Dickens. There are so many quotes in this novel that I relate to them at times in my life. I don’t say my life is like the story, but some of the quotes.
There have been times where life is fun and exciting things are happening, but I am usually able to push the negative aside. It can feel conflicting, to fully enjoy the sweet moment while knowing action may need to be taken for the problem. One of my strengths is to compartmentalize projects to give it my full attention. Lately, the future has tried to cloud my present. It is in those moments that I have thought, “it was the best of times and the worst of times”.
I know that I am not the only one who has been challenged with these cluttered thoughts. There can be so many things to process and decisions to make. Uncertainty can stop you from doing what you need to do. Getting in the bed to hide can seem like a good idea of escaping, except when you get up the problem is still there.
Packing and Unpacking ~~
Several of my home organizing clients have faced the same challenge when moving and downsizing or renovating their home. They are excited and stressed with all the decisions to make. Many of their personal items are tied to precious memories with not enough room to keep everything. This can cause more anxiety when packing and unpacking.
Everyone’s situation is personal and unique. There is no “one size fits all” answer. I have found for me to make a check list of things to do. This helps me to stay on task. Writing a list of all that I am thankful for helps to keep the joy in my life. For those super tough times, I have a mentor that keeps me on track.
If you find that you are facing a big project and need assistance I would love to be there with you to help.
